NYC's Dance Music Comedy Art Show

Since 2013, Ten-Foot Rat Cabaret presents an inspired, curated monthly celebration of amazing dance, gorgeous music, smart comedy, clever storytelling, hot burlesque, art and theatrical vaudeville spectacle. A great show in a legendary East Village venue: A campy, classic NYC nightlife experience like no other!

Saturday February 8, 10:30pm Show Features –

Meet McKenzie Dreher: Movement artist, dancer, slow-motion Yoga-Circus contortionist… McKenzie brings a beautiful, awe-inspiring physical art to our stage.

Bossa nova, samba, choro: those lovely soulful yet light sounds that make everyone slow down and sway. Thalys Peterson is a Brazilian Classical guitarist with a mastery and a delight. Ah, Brasil

– (Listen to Thalys)

Favorites of Fringe and Frigid theater fests around the world, Mary Crosbie and Moe Rosen are the Canadian husband-and-wife team called a “Dark postmodern Burns and Allen”: Hilarious, silly, horrifying and loveable, this vaudevillian duo will make you suspect a tesseract opened up to the Golden age of Radio – until you start listening to their insane and insanely funny “conversations.”

Violence, love, drugs, creation, destruction and the human race’s destiny: Leesa Liquidsteel, a founder of the Romulus and Good Bison dance ensembles, performance artist, and storyteller, returns from Austin to NYC with her blend of lights, sounds and visceral physical art.

Classically trained in opera (dig those high notes!) and veteran musical-theater pro, Melissa Grace is a troupe member of Guilty Pleasures Cabaret, You’ve seen her steal the show in  “Sway With Me” at The Triad (Upper West Side, Manhattan) and “Speakeasy Social” at 54 Below (Off-Broadway). Now catch her beautiful golden pipes at the Rat!

Valentine’s lies!  Is he “Germany’s Most Popular Comedian” … or escaped criminal? Continental kitsch and dark humor with Gregory Levine as aristocratic criminal Gregor of Berlin. Suave, sinister, witty and sarcastic, Herr Gregor regales the audience with horrid tales of warped Teutonic childhood, decadence, and of course, show biz. Gregory has been seen on the Travel Channel, at 54 Below, and at the Capital Fringe and NY Frigid Theater Festival, The Duplex, the PIT Comedy Theater and Guinness Book of World Records. He also hosts the weekly Electric Stage Open Mic performing-arts showcase.

The Rat would not be complete without our Artist-in-Residence: the funny, brilliant, and bizarre Bill Chambers. He brought us Henry Rollins’ Children’s Book Read-a-long, David Lee Roth’s Therapy Session, Vincenzo the Chain-Smoking Monkey, Neil Diamond’s True Crime Confessions. Expect the unexpected from this hilarious performance-art polymath… now raising a baby! (Among his accolades: 2019 Gotham Storytelling Festival; Opening the Nov. 2018 Gotham Storytelling Festiva; and slaying at the NY Times Critic’s Pick Sideshow Goshko.)

Stand Up Comic/Storyteller, Canadian Import Jillian Thomas (MTV Live, The Buzz, The Toronto Show, Listen Missy and Much Music’s Love Court). Not to mention the annual East Village Oscar Awards Party, and Canada’s longest-running cannabis-cafe comedy-club show!

Produced by Rob Dub and Gregory Levine
