Saturday Jan. 12, 10:30pm Show Features –

The inimitable Leila Ben-Abdallah (you remember her from the Rat’s Psycho Celebrity Halloween show) has brought us a dirty puppet show based on The Scarlet Letter, a stunt woman auditioning for Michael Bay, and an awkwardly aroused librarian wooing the Great Works of Literature: Leila is a super-talented character comedian with a gift for the absurd. See her present the godmother of the Parental Advisory Label!

Mimi Oz and Mike Milazzo together are Oz and Milazzo – a fantastic duet of earthy and sweet, rough and beautiful sounds. These two gifted singer-songwriter guitarists are virtual legends in NYC’s East Village/Lower East Side live-music scene… The Rat is thrilled to present them. Moulin Rouge-style dazzle, costumery, Tap, Frug, acrobatic “circus” contortion, and Light Show — that’s the acclaimed international Guilty Pleasures Cabaret dance company! See why they’ve wowed crowds at Feinstein’s/54 Below, the Duplex, the Cutting Room and worldwide resorts from Dubai to Belize to China!

Nataly Aukar has featured in shows with Nimesh Patel (SNL staff writer) and OPENED in Dec. for Gad Elmaleh’s international Dream Tour (Dubai, NYC, Miami). Nataly deals with “her family, her hot Lebanese friends, dating, her sexuality in Lebanon, her sexuality in America, and everything that makes you a better person than she is.”

From Kazakhstan comes Karen Garrett (aka Karina Viola), whose illuminated steel instrument plays music like you’ve never heard – or seen: wild folk dances from the Republic of Georgia, orchestral rock and even a certain HBO show theme cover (hint: Winter Is Coming.)

The Rat would not be complete without our Artist-in-Residence: the funny, brilliant, and bizarre Bill Chambers. He brought us Henry Rollins’ Children’s Book Read-a-long, David Lee Roth’s Therapy Session, Vincenzo the Chain-Smoking Monkey, Neil Diamond’s True Crime Confessions. Expect the unexpected from this hilarious performance-art polymath. He opened the Gotham Storytelling Festival, slew the Canuck Cabaret, and appears in the annual cult favorite Lower East Side Anti-Folk Festival.

Continental kitsch and dark “German” nightclub humor with Gregory Levine as aristocratic criminal Gregor of Berlin. Suave, sinister, witty and sarcastic, Herr Gregor regales the audience with horrid tales of warped Teutonic childhood, decadence, and of course, show-biz life in Europe and America. Gregory/Gregor has been seen in the Capital Fringe, Frigid Festival, Travel Channel, The Duplex, the PIT Comedy Theater and Guinness Book of World Records.

HOSTED by Stand Up Comic/Storyteller, Canadian Import Jillian Thomas (MTV Live, The Buzz, The Toronto Show, Listen Missy and Much Music’s Love Court). Not to mention the annual East Village Oscar Awards Party, and Canada’s longest-running cannabis-cafe comedy-club show!

Produced by Rob Dub and Gregory Levine
