ShayferAndSarah-BW
Now in its 5th Year, Ten-Foot Rat Cabaret features an inspired, curated monthly roster of thrilling music, smart comedy, amazing dance, clever storytelling, sexy burlesque, art and theatrical vaudeville spectacle. A great show in a legendary East Village venue: a NYC night out like no other!  (READ REVIEWS, below.)

Saturday July 14, 10:30pm Show Features –

GORGEOUS MUSIC:
A sound that’s simple, raw and stripped down, while filling the room with soul and intensity: that’s Henry Black, a singer and guitarist making his Rat debut. We’re thrilled to welcome him aboard!

BIG-TIME HOTSHOT COMEDIAN:
He wrote for MR. SHOW. He created stop-action animation Moral Orel and Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole for Adult Swim. You’ve seen him in Conan sketches. It’s Dino Stamatopoulos!
(Stephen Colbert tweeted: “Hey. You know Dino Stamatopoulos? He’s funny. He also has a band called Sorry About Everything…”)

HIPHOP VAUDEVILLE:
Telling the true stories of African-American performers in the 1910s and now, this show-ensemble created by dancer and choreographer Jordon Waters is very funny, poignant, dynamic, cool, and finally triumphant. The Rat is proud to present excerpts of “Rebirth of Rabbit’s Foot” (presented at Feinstein’s/54 Below, Joe’s Pub and a 6-Month Residency at the PIT Theater). Rabbit’s Foot is about to explode with dance, patter, and energy!

MONTHLY ART-ENTERTAINMENT BRILLIANCE:
The Rat’s not complete without the funny, clever, eccentric work of Bill Chambers. A horrifying parody of an Apple tech expo, the tale of Vincenzo the Chain-Smoking Monkey, re-animating a “dead” Teddy Ruxpin a la Mary Shelly — expect the unexpected. Bill is seen in the Frigid Festival, Canuck Cabaret, and the annual East Village Antifolk Festival.

PSEUDO ‘GERMAN’ NIGHTCLUB HUMOR:
Gregor of Berlin (aka Gregory Levine) – suave, sinister, sarcastic, appearing “by contractual obligation,” the Fatherland’s favorite entertainer will regale you with horrid tales of Berlinner childhood, decadence, morphine, prostitution, and of course, show biz. (Seen at Feinstein’s/54 Below, APAP showcases at the Duplex, Capital Fringe, Frigid Festival, Travel Channel and in the Guinness World Records).

HOT WORLD DANCE ENSEMBLE:
Members of the acclaimed international Guilty Pleasures Cabaret dance troupe bring their Moulin Rouge-style dazzle, costumery, Tap, Frug, “circus” contortion, and acclaimed Light Show to the Rat every month! See why they wowed Feinstein’s/54 Below, The Duplex and resorts from Belize to China!

HOSTED by Stand Up Comic/Storyteller, Canadian Import Jillian Thomas(MTV Live, The Toronto Show, The Buzz, Listen Missy, & Much Music’s Love Court). Not to mention the annual East Village Oscar Awards Party, and Canada’s longest-running cannabis-cafe comedy-club show!

Saturday June 9, 10:30pm Show Features –

BEAUTIFUL BLUES BELTING:
Audience favorite SHESHE DANCE (aka Azusa) always captures the room with her rip-roaring vocals and big big heart. Witness why this wonderful song stylist won over the famously tough Showtime at The Apollo — TWICE!

MADAME BOUGE:
Aka Pamela Wess (star of cult fave “Clown Porn” and co-host of the The ORIGINAL NYC Talent Show), a superb scary sexy hilarious performance-art burlesque parody who just may destroy something — because she carries a horse-whip!

INSANE CHARACTER(S):
Katie Hartman, fresh off a major role in the Netflix comedy The Week Of (playing opposite Adam Sandler and Chris Rock!!!), has killed it in cult-favorite comedy Gypsy Danger and Skinny B*tch Jesus Meeting. And the Rat has her on June 9th!

WORLD DANCE TROUPE: FISHNET FOLLIES
Moulin Rouge-style dazzle, costumery, Tap, Frug, “circus” contortion, and acclaimed Light Show! MAD ‘MOCKSTAR’ CONCERT:
The legendary Killy Dwyer (host, Radio Free Brooklyn) is a singer, songwriter, mosher, digital artist and performer like you’ve never seen! Learn why Jerry Stiller said, “Kid, that Lady Gaga’s got nothin’ on you!” when she was a Finalist in the annual Andy Kaufman Awards!

FUNNY BITTER(SWEET) STORY LEGEND:
Michele Carlo (creator of “Fish Out of Agua” and acclaimed solo show “There Goes the Neighbrhood”) is the self-proclaimed “redhead with 8,000,000 stories about New York City—perhaps one of them is about *you*…” We’re looking forward to getting lost in her words.

GUITARIST-SINGER:
In his Rat debut, meet Hayden T. Stearns! A terrific compelling musician, singing from the heart (a cliche, yes, but you’ll see) — and carving out a niche all his own in NYC.

You’ve seen Selena in the Amazon Prime sitcom “Red Oaks” and on Bravo, Lifetime, VH1 andCollegeHumor.com. (Oh, and on influential pop-culture podcasts obsessing analyzing Guns N Roses.) (Seen in The Duplex, Feinstein’s/54 Below, the Capital Fringe, Frigid Festival, Travel Channel and in the Guinness World Records for Longest Continuous Variety Show).

…and MORE!

NYC’s Hot Art Cabaret Returns on Oct. 14!

FourthAnniversaryMontageA slice of NYC nightlife in a classic East Village venue. A night out like no other.

SATURDAY OCT. 14, 10:30pm SHOW FEATURES:

DARK SWEET BOHEMIAN MUSIC:
Jackson Sturkey – the sense of shadowy saloons and old theaters, absinthe in glamorous basements and sepia sheet-music, Jackson’s music and persona will charm and delight you as he captures the essence of the Hot Art Cabaret.

SHARP COMEDY:
Veronica Garza – Veronica’s known for The She-Woman Lady Lovers Variety Show & Workshop (for podcasters), co-hosts The Muddy Waters Show at The Fulton Grand, has appeared on MTV and TMZ — and her jokes were featured on NPR! You will agree with the Rat’s bookers: she’s one hilarious badass.

HOT PROFESSIONAL DANCE TROUPE:
The Fishnet Follies, a “boutique act” created specially for the Rat, members of the acclaimed international Guilty Pleasures Cabaret dance troupe will bring their dazzle, costumery, Tap, Frug, “circus” contortion, and acclaimed Light Show to the Rat every month! See why they wowed Feinstein’s/54 Below, the Triad and resorts from Belize to China!

MONTHLY ART-ENTERTAINMENT BRILLIANCE:
The Rat’s not complete without the funny, clever, eccentric work of Bill Chambers. A pitch-perfect parody of an egomaniacal Apple tech expo, the tale of Vincenzo the Chain-Smoking Monkey, re-animating a “dead” Teddy Ruxpin a la Mary Shelly — expect the unexpected. Bill is seen in the Frigid Festival, Canuck Cabaret, and punk/hardcore shows all across Eastern Europe and NY.

MOE & MARY:
Favorites of Fringe and Frigid theater festivals around the world, Mary Crosbie and Moe Rosen are the Canadian husband-and-wife team often called a “dark postmodern Burns and Allen”: Hilarious, silly, horrifying and loveable, this vaudevillian duo will make you suspect a tesseract opened up to the Golden age of Radio – until you start listening to their insane and insanely funny “conversations.”

LIVE FROM SPAIN: HERR GREGOR!
A melange of lies!  Gregory Levine as “Herr Gregor of Berlin” will regale you with horrid tales of Teutonic childhood, decadence, morphine, prostitution, and of course, the cruelty of show biz. (Seen in the Capital Fringe, FRIGID Festival, Travel Channel, Duplex, Feinstein’s/54 Below and Guinness World Records for Longest Continuous Variety Show). THIS MONTH: Coming to you live from his vacation in Barcelona, Spain, via Facebook Live… if we can force him to.
