So… Who’s Performing at the Ten-Foot Rat Cabaret this weekend?

OPERA AND BROADWAY BEAUTY:
Welcome back Julie Lauren Stevens Kosnik. Celestial arias that bring jaded people to tears and sassy show tunes belted with brio – a veteran of Opera Collective, Julie makes the walls of musical theaters shake (LITERALLY), and stopped NYC subway travelers in their tracks. Julie is a Rat favorite, and everyone who sees her goes away amazed. (Listen to Julie Here: The Flower Song)

VERY FUNNY GENIUS:
Jordan Temple is a a Story Editor on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” named a “New Face” of comedy at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and creator of L.A. smash comic play “Hidden Fences” (starring Jermaine Fowler). Jordan is, as many know, funny as hell.

GORGEOUS BURLESQUE & MODERN DANCE:
Scarlett Cerise, who’s been too long away from the Rat’s stage, is back: hostess of the Plan B variety extravaganza, she is self-described as “Burlesque’s tempting tart treat.” We agree, but don’t just take our word for it…

BRAZILIAN ACOUSTIC GUITAR:
Bossa nova, samba, choro: those lovely soulful yet light sounds that make everyone slow down and sway. Thalys Peterson is a Brazilian Classical guitarist with a mastery and a delight. Ah, Brasil…  (Listen to Thalys here)

MAGICAL… DEPRESSIVE?
Love magic? Hate magicians? Either way, this is for you: Scott Benjamin (“Curmudgeon,” seen weekly at the PIT Theater in NYC) brings excerpts of his acclaimed 2018 SoloProv performance (“An evening of Illusion, Legerdemain and Regret”): it’s neurotic, disturbed, hilarious — and things disappear.

THAT ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE:
The Rat would not be complete without our Artist-in-Residence: the funny, brilliant, and bizarre Bill Chambers. He brought us Henry Rollins’ Children’s Book Read-a-long, David Lee Roth’s Therapy Session, Vincenzo the Chain-Smoking Monkey, Neil Diamond’s True Crime Confessions. Expect the unexpected from this hilarious performance-art polymath. (Among his accolades: He opened the Nov. 2018 Gotham Storytelling Festival and slew at the NY Times Critic’s Pick Sideshow Goshko.)

‘GERMAN ARISTOCRAT’ … OR CON MAN?
Continental kitsch and dark “German” nightclub humor with Gregory Levine as aristocratic criminal Gregor of Berlin. Suave, sinister, witty and sarcastic, Herr Gregor regales the audience with horrid tales of warped Teutonic childhood, decadence, and of course, show-biz life in Europe and America. Gregory/Gregor has been seen in the Capital Fringe, Frigid Festival, Travel Channel, The Duplex, the PIT Comedy Theater and Guinness Book of World Records.

HOSTED by Stand Up Comic/Storyteller, Canadian Import Jillian Thomas (MTV Live, The Buzz, The Toronto Show, Listen Missy and Much Music’s Love Court). Not to mention the annual East Village Oscar Awards Party, and Canada’s longest-running cannabis-cafe comedy-club show!

Produced by Rob Dub and Gregory Levine
