What to Do in NYC Tonight !
Looking for NYC Music Comedy Dance Cabaret on Saturday? *
Then the Ten-Foot Rat Cabaret beckons at 10:30pm, in the legendary Under St. Marks Theater!
Now in its 5th Year, the Rat proudly presents:
from Julie Lauren Stevens Kosnik. Soaring operatic arias and Broadway tunes belted with brio – she’s made the walls of musical theaters shake and even astonished and halted NYC subway travelers in their tracks. Julie is a Rat favorite and we’re delighted to have her back!
The Fishnet Follies, a “boutique act” created specially for the Rat, members of the acclaimed international Guilty Pleasures Cabaret dance troupe will bring their dazzle, costumery, Tap, Frug, “circus” contortion, and acclaimed Light Show to the Rat every month! See why they wowed Feinstein’s/54 Below, the Triad, the Duplex and worldwide resorts from Belize to China!
Boris Khaykin‘s comedy has been featured on HuffingtonPost and he’s appeared on Collegehumor Live. He’s a member of comedy group North Coast (featured on MTV and VH1).
TimeOutNY listed Boris one of Brooklyn Comedy Festival’s Biggest Stars.
CRAZY FUNNY SHOW-WITHIN-SHOW:
What is The 29th Street Revue? Part sketch comedy, part musical theater, the Revue’s members (huge cast, inc. PIT Theater luminaries Kassi Dougherty and Melissa Parker Caron) will generate a hilarious show-within-a-show before your eyes and ears – with live piano accompaniment enhancing the experience!
MONTHLY ART-ENTERTAINMENT BRILLIANCE:
The Rat’s not complete without the funny, clever, eccentric work of Bill Chambers. A pitch-perfect parody of Apple expo egomania, the tale of Vincenzo the Chain-Smoking Monkey, “Neil Diamond,” re-animating a “dead” Teddy Ruxpin a la Mary Shelly — expect the unexpected. Bill is seen in the Frigid Festival, Canuck Cabaret, and punk/hardcore shows all across Eastern Europe and NY.
Appearing “by contractual obligation,” “Herr Gregor of Berlin” (Gregory Levine) will regale you with horrid tales of Teutonic childhood, decadence, morphine, prostitution, and of course, the cruelty of show biz. (Seen in The Duplex, Feinstein’s/54 Below, the Capital Fringe, Frigid Festival, Travel Channel and in the Guinness World Records for Longest Continuous Variety Show).
