What a show last night!
Against some crazy odds, and a few emergencies, we pulled off a terrific show last night! Thanks first to our supersharp talent:
Sung Lee, thrilling beatboxer, who constitutes an entire band all by himself; Liam McEneaney, one of NY’s top comedians, hilarious as always; Galatea Stone, striking polymath dance-burlesquer (thanks for being so pro and such a rockstar at the last minute); Bill Chambers‘ sly and funny tale of catering a bizarrely casual funeral (with Dan Ricker‘s musical accompaniment); Adam Auslander, clown extraordinaire, deftly funny and a joy to watch. I had what was inarguably a great set as Gregor of Berlin.
Our staff and crew: Jillian Thomas‘ hosting was on fire, on point, and very funny! Bill gets a second mention for being an indispensable part of executing the show. Debby Bell, purveyor of salty sweet treats and confections, in her new added role as pre-show introducer and Horse Trade* factotum. Stage manager Clay West took on yet more responsibility as he kept the show fluid; the same goes for sound-and-light maven William Glenn, tops in the biz. Thanks also to Sarah keeping thirsts quenched at the theater bar, and Ari working the door and greeting the public.
Naturally, my co-producer (and show videographer/live-streamer) Rob Dub — you can’t stop the signal!
*Special thanks go to Horse Trade Theater Group and Erez Ziv, who do more than anyone even imagines to support and nurture independent shows, plays, events and festivals, the artful entertainments that live in this town!
And last but MOST, all of YOU who watched the show — THANK YOU. Please join us on Wed. Sept. 7, 9:30pm when we celebrate The Ten-Foot Rat Cabaret‘s THREE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY! It’s gonna be a special one!
